In 1947, outside a rustic fishing lodge, an amateur fossil-hunter stumbled upon what would forever change this rural Floridian town.

Realizing the significance of this discovery, he and a handful of scientist friends banded together to purchase the lodge, relocated here, and immediately began excavating. When word got out, enthusiasts from all over flocked to the new dig site, and this small town quickly became known as Dinoland USA.

Head down historic route 498 and you’ll arrive at Digg County’s very own, Dinoland USA.

Our recommended first stop is none other than the Boneyard, the exact location where it all began.
